Having a clear mind opens the gateway to living a healthy mental and physical life. Living with a healthy emotional wellness is essential to successfully navigate our fast-paced world. This healthy state of mind can reduce stress and blood pressure, release muscle tension, and even help with anxiety. The two tools I use to create a clear mind are both meditation and yoga. I find that yoga helps bridge the gap between physical and emotional wellness in a relaxed environment that other physical exercises cannot accomplish. For me, yoga has been instrumental in recovering from a traumatic back injury. With this injury, I found my core muscles weak and cramped up. After consistently alternating both yoga routines and common yoga stretches I found my muscles loosening and taking pressure off of sensitive nerves in my back that can cause pain to go down my legs.
